Spiders & Snakes Editor: My friend who died late last yr. kept a tarantula in a terrarium for several yrs. They don't scare me.
The hike did cross my mind, but it's in the next county (our counties are big) around 35 crow-flight miles from here. I'd have to take a heavy-rail train to this Thousand Oaks place, & then a cab or something to wherever in the mtns. the hike starts. I'll stick w/ Griffith Pk.

It's to protect the tarantulas, not the hikers. Tarantulas are gentle, lovely creatures.
Ya know, you should go on one of those tarantula hikes, old chum.
